• 9,101 ecological-friendly packages for distributing free food to mourners taking part in the royal cremation ceremony for His Majesty the Late King Bhumibhol Adulyadej.

    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samorn Hirunpaditkoon, together with a research team from the Faculty of Engineering, Naresuan University, has successfully developed eco-friendly packaging design using leaves to replace foam containers. Among other leaves tested in laboratory, bastard teak leaves were found to be best suited for replacing foam containers due to its high resistance value; the material is capable of containing hot food without any leakages.

  • Planting ten thousand marigolds blooming all over the campus for the late King Rama IX’s cremation ceremony

    The Division of Buildings and Grounds initiated the project to plant ten thousand marigolds along Naresuan Road (from the main gate of the University to the King Naresuan Monument) jointly by Naresuan University staff, students, and the rest of the NU community on September 1st 2017. We hope that they will bloom all over the campus for the late King Rama IX’s cremation ceremony from October 25 to 29, 2017.

  • Green University Overview for a Sustainable Future

    Naresuan University was officially founded on July 29, 1990. The total area of the main campus, which is located in the suburban area of Phitsanulok province, is 2,167,624 square meters, 9.38 % of which is covered by forest vegetation with 28.53 percent covered by planted vegetation. Naresuan University has policies to use energy efficient appliances, replacing conventional appliances. A greenhouse gas emission reduction program has been implemented using the HVAC System which has been implemented for green buildings as reflected in all construction and renovation policies, for example, natural ventilation, full natural day-lighting, and employment of a building energy manager for the Green Building. Naresuan University also uses renewable energy inside the campus, produced from solar energy.

  • Naresuan University population altogether thinks for a sustainable future

    Professor Dr. Kanchana Ngourungsi, president of Naresuan University, has a policy to increase the green area on campus. Naresuan University initiated the project by asking for donations from the NU population to plant Salao trees (Lagerstroemia loudoni Teijsm. & Binn), which is the signature tree of Naresuan University, and grass around the campus to promote a sustainable environment.

  • Naresuan University was proactive to initiate “Zero Shop” to implant good volunteering for the environment by the NU freshmen.

    In the Academic Year 2016, the Student Affairs Division, Naresuan University initiated the project “Zero Shop” for managing waste on campus. The aim of this project is to implant good behaviors for a sustainable environment at NU. The Student Affairs Division, Naresuan University commenced the project “Zero Shop” with the concept of exchanging recycled waste occurring in daily life for things in the shop, such as soap, toothpaste, face powder, hair shampoo, and food to reduce the cost of living at NU.

  • UI GreenMetric Ranking 2016

    Naresuan University was ranked 112 with a score of 5,619 out of 10,000 from 516 universities by the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking and was ranked in 4th position among 22 Thai universities. The results were released by the University of Indonesia (UI) on December 29th, 2016.
